A couple from the North Rim (repost)
Photos of the North Rim from a trip in July and a trip in early August.

The Cape Royal / Wotans Throne image was with a Canon TS-E 24mm.
Cropped a bit on the left, some blend to add subtle light on distant left detail. Also a small bit of crop below to eliminate NP clutter.

The cloud above Wotans Throne formed in just a few minutes, then came a bolt of lightning. A few minutes later it was gone. Really dynamic out there.

Warm-up for a trip this weekend with others here this weekend.

c/c welcome.

Tides of Time

Image from Locust Point was with a Canon EF 300mm 2.8 IS II USM. Image is looking west - with wall estimated 20-25 miles away. Probably a good 10 miles in this spread.

Great images, Karl. I was there for the first time last weekend. Wish I could have stayed longer. Good luck this weekend!

I like the weather you caught and the hazy light coming in from the right. I hoped that we would get some storms this weekend, but does not look like it will happen. There appears to be a slight SW tilt of the S Rim, but I know the rim is not level. In my screen, there seems to be too much blue which is giving the sunlit face of Wotan a slight green tint.

Fun trip to the Canyon last week. Thanks Bob, Doug, and others who made it to the big ditch. I have been processing all week!

Back to the Wotans Throne Light image - yep, somehow I missed the tilt but there it was... went about -0.5. And I did a slight tint adjust to shed some of the overall green, re compensated the clouds a slight bit. About a +10 degree rotation. Did some color harmony checks and its close - a pocket of colors between 30-60 and 210-240. I feel good about it and about ready to proof it. So here is the 720.
