My wife and I would like to have some large prints (36"x36" and 36" x 54") made either on metal or canvas. I've looked at Mpix and MpixPro (connected to my web site) and they don't seem to offer such large sizes. Can folks recommend alternate sources and possible advise about making such large size prints from a 24M image?

Mark,

Check with West Coast Imaging in CA.

I've had large prints made by them over the years. They do excellent work.

Bay photo does an excellent job with metal prints. Printing that large from 24mp is fine as long as the original file is sharp and exposed well. Sold a print to a client that was 30x45 from a similar sized file. Be sure to process carefully for optimal quality.

Mark, the West Coast Imaging that Preston mentions is top of the line with their products. I'd also mention their spinoff or sister organization that I've used more often then WCI in the past and that is Aspen Creek Photo. Aspen Creek Photo

I've found ACP prices more to my liking......

Many thanks for the links and advice. I've ordered a canvas 30 x 45 and a metal 36 x 36 from Aspen Creek. I am nervous about the file size/resolution for the 30 x 45....we'll see how it turns out.

Let us know how they turn out. I've used Mpix and Nations Photo for canvas wraps in the past. Nations Photo because the prints were going to someone in New York and they needed to be on a thinner frame. Would of used Bay Photo but didn't make sense to have them printed on the west coast then shipped al the way to the east coast. Figured the chance of damage in transit was a lot higher. I plan to have some metal prints made this Fall so I'll be curious as to your satisfaction with the lab you choose. :toast:

Good luck with the file making your expectations, Mark. I know you will not be disappointed with ACP's work. A recent print I did I was very impressed with as well as their past quality in workmanship.

I've received the canvas print from Aspen Creek and it looks great. The print arrived very well packaged. They've had a mechanical problem with their metal prints, so I'm still waiting on that one.
