UPDATE, 10/19/2014: It may not be as big of a problem... it looks like the majority of the problems are being caused by folks who had installed the BETA version of Yosemite and are now installing the real release on top of that. Those going the normal upgrade route are having more success. This is good news, most are probably doing that!

Apple released Yosemite this week and there have been a very high number of complaints coming from inside the industry about it bricking their Macs, etc. Most guys I deal with that are network and database admins that are in and around Amazon's and Google's massive data centers are mostly using MacBook Pros, then remoting into the UNIX systems and whatever else these guys do. Several of them upgraded today and right now have an unusable MacBook (they use Macs because they are the best hardware out there). Point is, let the dust settle a bit and let Apple rush out the patches and updates for a couple weeks, then if you desire to move up to Yosemite, you should be able to upgrade without failure.
If anyone DID upgrade and had no problems at all, please post and let us know.

I upgraded my Macbook Pro and MacPro desktop without any problem so far. The only thing stopped working is the BAMBOO pad, but they are promising that it will be fixed soon.
