Words cannot describe the anger and sadness I feel over this sort of activity:

A sad commentary on what is going wrong with our world. Such people are not connected to the real world at all. They're merely passing through and typically unscathed from the many pressures that exist across the globe. As they exist in a bubble or cocoon void of respect for anything including the sanctity and legacy of our national parks that many people have fought and died to protect.
Hopefully like others she will receive the wrath of the legal system in the end. At least she temporarily has the notoriety she was looking for, and that too will add to bring about her prosecution.

I hope they prosecute her fully. Her artwork is better suited to boxcars. What an idiot. No respect for the parks and those that enjoy them.

Such an individual appears to have no concept of the definition of respect. My suggestion would be solitary confinement for a time.and the only available reading be the works of the naturalist, Edwin Teale. I am not sure rehab such as this would be beneficial for her but it might make me feel somewhat better.

Time in confinement and reading is a bit soft IMVHO.
I'd be more inclined to have them placed at each sight they desecrated with a box full of toothbrushes and make them clean their mess up.
Then again I'm one of those folks that is real easy to get along with too.....

This has now made it to national news broadcast as of this morning. Hopefully it will lead to bring about strong conviction results too. :frown:

It's also been in the mainstream newspapers. Saw it in the LA Times, the Sac Bee and a story here in the Modesto Bee:

Note the fairly significant financial cost of a single Yosemite incident earlier this year. Should be 10x for this new vandal.

Hopefully the fines are significant for each site they can prove the person was the culprit for the damage. Interesting that this case seems to be linked back to the incident last year at Joshua Tree NP. Rattlesnake trail near Barker dam was closed for a very long time as a result while the already overworked park service personnel had to deal with that unsightly project.

Again, I'm all for prosecuting and finds where applicable, but would prefer that personal cleanup of the damaged areas by the guilty more to my way of seeking restitution.
