I received my 7D Mark II last night. Went out in the back yard just to test it out quickly.
Here are a couple of samples. I'll attach one here and then the next two in replies to this thread.
I opened the RAW files in Canon's DPP 4.1.1 since LR & ACR haven't been updated yet to handle the RAW files.
Did a Convert & Save as a 16 bit TIff
Opened the Tiff in PS. Zoomed to 100% and did a crop.
Saved for Web as a Jpeg at 500KB
No other processing.
I know.... not perfect for really seeing what the results are, but thought it might be of interest to some folks.
All images were with the 7D Mark II, 500mm f/4 L

Keith, I've got one pre-ordered, since it sounds like the mid-high ISO handling is much improved. Based on what you've posted I'd say it looks pretty decent compared to the original 7D. How would you rate it?

Max: I never owned the original 7D, but certainly have seen enough images from the original 7D. I also used one for a few days about a year after it was released. I believe it is improved significantly. I processed an image and posted it in Avian from the ISO 3200 series. With the 5D Mark III and the 7D Mark II, I think I have a very solid duo to tackle most any situation. I'm pleased so far, but have only had the 7D II for a day now....

Thanks Keith. I'm looking forward to getting mine. I see it as a potential replacement for my 1D Mark IV, but need to put it through its paces.

Thanks for posting, Keith. I was at a Pacific Northwest Nature Photographer's meeting Saturday with George Lepp as the guest speaker. He'd gotten one for a couple of weeks and seemed much impressed.
Update. DXO's review came out yesterday. They seem to be lukewarm on general sensor quality but gave it a pretty decent high iso rating.
Their rating is 1082, if I recall it correctly, which translates to excellent quality at that iso.
