Those damn video ads on every online article

Sorry this is off-topic, but there is always a wealth of information in our community here.

Any way to STOP those damn video ads you have to listen to, to get to a news item or anything else on the Net? Sometimes, there are several articles on a site I want to read, and then have to sit through the same 30-second ad before every one of them.

Driving me nuts. I usually just close the site and don't read the article I'm interested in.

The first thing I do is see if there's a 'pause' button, or, I'll mute my sound. These video ads are as bad a pop-up windows.

They drive me nuts, too, Sandy. If there was a way to prevent the videos from loading, I'd do it in heartbeat!

Adblock Plus, free download, easy install... I have no idea what you are talking about so it must be working for me!

Thanks Dave. ABP installed. The increasingly obnoxious ads led me pretty much to abandon TV.
