WHO?
Barred Owl (Strix varia) - Was up early (3:30 AM) on 12/20/2014 to participate in the Christmas Bird Count (Spring Creek)on the north side of Houston, TX.Overall count numbers were down, but species number was good at 95 species. We had a good owl count: 2-Great Horned, 5-Screech, and this Barred Owl. I was pleased with the photo given the conditions. Taken with a Canon EOS 7D Mark II, EF 300mm f2.8 lens w/1.4 TC, IS, f5.6, 1/30 sec., ISO 6400, handheld, and subject illuminated by flashlight.

Nice given what you had to work with, sounds like the count went well.

Who, indeed! I hear owls and occasionally see them fly by but never get a good image of them.
