This is regarding the Tongass National Forest in Alaska:
I have never understood the logic behind Deforestation, the loss of trees and habitat does not seem to be worth the commercial gain versus the future of the planet's survival. This week President Obama is touring overseas to try and convince the world that a reduction in pollution is needed and yet his administration is allowing the deforestation of 800 year old trees in Alaska. Where is the logic here, find out more below and do what you can to help, your and my great-great-grandchildren are depending on the changes that need to be made before it is too late. We will never see 'Old Growth Forest' again, we need to save the ones we still have left.

Having lived among the 2d and 3d growth in Arcata and watched as 1000 year old trees continued to get cut down, i never understood it either. Greed and ignorance.
