Crazy weather here in the PNW has resulted in some reports of early wildflower blooms. David M. Cobb reported over a week ago that the Grass Widows were blooming in The Gorge, and now there are reports that there are lots of blooms. With the predicted nice weather in the next few days, you might want to visit the Washington side of the Columbia River. http://naturalhistorywanderings.com/2015/02/13/catherine-creek-oregon-wildflower-report-21215/

Do the weather Gods realize it's mid-February? Amazing! I'm starting to see some blooms around the Seattle area as well. Maybe this will turn out to be a great year for flora photographers.
Thanks Greg!

Hi All..I'm new here, got a membership as a Christmas gift and finally setting it up so I hope this post is OK. I was over on the Washington side of the Gorge on Wednesday this week, and I didn't notice any unusual flowering. However, it may have been the locations I chose, as I went up to Panther Creek Falls and then to Spirit Falls. Lush and green in both places but no flowers. The falls, particularly Spirit, were roaring. There are plenty of flowers coming up in my own yard in Beaverton!

Steve Luther: the reports I've seen are from the open sunny places like Coyote Wall Trail and Catherine Creek trails, which are usually the earliest areas in the Gorge to see wildflowers blooming.

Nice comp and color, Greg. I like the water drops on the blossom. I agree that spring is around the corner. I was at Cannon Beach last Wednesday and Thursday and the daffodils, camellias and some flowering trees were blooming everywhere.
Welcome to the forum Steve Luther. Hope to hear more from you and post some of your shots.

Greg, Wonderful image. Sharp, great color and the background is right on. I was at Long Beach area the first week in January and there was an occasional Rhodie bloom on a few bushes. My brother is there now and reports shore birds are flying north already. Weird weather.
