After 4 days of trying to get close to this partridge I finally succeeded. I wanted to take photo's of him drumming for a mate, but the brush was too thick and the light was poor. I have never witnessed this myself in the wild even though I am an avid outdoorsman. I wasn't going to leave empty handed so I spent 3 hours lying in the spring runoff shooting video. Please have a gander. I edited it into a nice 3 minute clip. Shot with Sony CX900.
Gary, what a thrill to see this fellow drumming. Needless to say I have never witnessed the behavior and admire your dedication in capturing it for us. What a marvelous percussive instrument he has on board and his drumming ability is most noteworthy as well. Thanks so!
