It’s that time of year again, I have not seen a cuckoo yet this year, this is one from a few years ago. Strange bird, I picked it up with binoculars about half a mile away. It flew strait as an arrow at me, allowing plenty of time to pick it up with camera, it flew by as if on a mission never deviating from its flight path.

I've not seen or heard one in this area for at least twenty years. Sign of the times and what we as a species are causing In all probability.
There may come a time when all that remains of the cuckoo are excellent images like this one, Bob.

Still not heard ours yet - numbers are holding up here in the hills, where the victims are meadow pipits, but the lowland birds have disappeared over the past couple of decades. Nice image, I've never been passed by one when I ha dthe right gear in my hand.
