I haven't been there since late March. The fields had just been planted so they weren't very green. It should be good now, and you should be close to a new moon. If the skys are clear you might be able to get some good start shots around the falls, etc.
Don't be discouraged by a little rain... if your timing is perfecto...then rains at night with morning clearing will make for a haze-free shooting at Steptoe Butte....
I was there end of week last week. It was HOT! Fields were green when we got there, but were quickly turning gold. There was a good mix of golds and greens by the end of the week.
