All of you are no doubt familiar with the ongoing site updates; Round 1, which addressed the image critique galleries and Round 2 which addressed the discussion forums.

In the background and with no fanfare, some other upgrades have been made; the comments screen in the IC galleries has been tweaked to be visually consistent  with the discussion forums and just as of yesterday, you can now post full size photos (1600 pixels/1MB) in replies in the IC galleries (as well as in the discussion forums).

The advantage of having the large photo feature in gallery replies is that you can now repost your original image - full size - with adjustments based on the feedback you receive. This will allow more direct comparison to the original and of course, allow everyone to enjoy your photo in its full size splendor!

We hope you find these latest improvements useful!

Very uselful, Jim.

Question: any way to substitute the reposted/revised version for the original as the image being saved for your gallery? It would be nice if we had the option to save the repost/revised version instead of the original version.

Excellent Jim!  Thank you!

I like Scott's question.  It would be nice if the gallery could 'feature' the revised image.

Scott and Steve, good point.

On one hand, we want to see the progression from the original post to the revised version(s); on the other hand, we only want the final version to appear in our PG.

If we allow the replacement of the original photo at the top of the thread with a revised version, the thread of suggestions/comments lose context, which then negates the learning value of the process.

I believe the best bet remains to simply post the final version as a new post, checking the PG box on the edit screen for permanent display in your PG.

If anyone has any other ideas on how handle this we would be pleased to hear them!

Jim, I totally agree. I think this is key to site all these years. If the image was changed the direct connection to the comments would appear off if the image was updated as suggestions were being made.

btw: not sure if others have had that same issue I presented awhile back, but I've yet to figure my problem out. It appears to only be in the forum area. If I make a comment and post it then each time I go back for ANY edit the spacing just multiplies and makes the comment eat up tons vacant of space. I tried deleting as you'd done to repair one of them and although it removes all the unnecessary spacing when I do the update it just adds it all back in. The only way I fixed one awhile back was to completely delete the comment and rewrite on a fresh comment with the corrected changes. Just an FYI.

Jim, all the changes look great.  Thanks for a major effort.
