Well, I've been out scouting for wildflowers, but sometimes other things are just more compelling. This is the black vixen I've been following for a handful of years now. There's another black fox in the neighborhood that I've been seeing more than her. I was on my way to town, saw her & stopped. She got up from the nice grassy area with a sprinkling of wildflowers, & came down to the road & lay down no more than 8' away from me by the time I had gotten my camera out of the locked drawer in the back of my FJ.

Love those eyes, Monika.
Great thing you had your camera with you! Perhaps crop a bit of foreground to focus still more attention on the fox?
Yes, you're right, of course, Glenn.
Wow! That is one gorgeous animal. Those eyes! Love the photo, Monika.
She must be at ease with you to come and lay so close. With those eyes and dark hair, a close portrait might be rather nice.
Really cool!
Eerie. In a good way!
