Rant forming: I personally have subscribed since day 1 but my photo business pays it and I write it off. But for many folks, CS6 has been the final way to stay subscription-free and I get that. To me Adobe should not sever that support, at least not yet. Typical of them. They cancelled Encore when CC was first released, which is how we author and burn DVDs for our video work in Premiere. Just totally cancelled it. Reason? "The world is moving to streaming media and devices". Ha. Of course, nobody on earth watches a DVD physical disc any more.
Sorry for the rant. Bottom line is, it won't affect PS CS6 users if they don't buy a new camera. But if there was ever a marketing move to get everyone at least on the $9.99 monthly subscription, this is it.
Well, I am one of these CS6 holdouts. I have to say, this upsets me, even though I'm not in the market for a new camera. I like CS6 just fine--it does everything I need, so I have no plans to go with CC. I do think the ending of ACR support for CS6 is very premature.
btw: I watch NetFlix DVD's, and my own DVD's on a regular basis. Most of the streaming stuff is a vast wasteland.

We use Netflix disc delivered to the door and it works just fine. We do also use Roku for streaming. The stuff offered by streaming from other then Netflix is a "vast wasteland". Not only that but the good stuff they want extra $$$ for, so, what is the subscription for? "vast wasteland".
I have CS5 on two hard drives. I will remain using it until I lose both drives and MUST do something else, like take up golf I guess.

I live in the country and my Internet service is quota based, so I don't subscribe to the "Cloud" of anything, don't stream anything, etc.. I recently upgraded to CS6 (downloaded, that hurt!) and I guess it will be my last version of Photoshop. And I will soon be in the market for a new camera.
I will take my laptop into town to upgrade to Windows 10.
Bummer, well, add me to the list of those who are not planning to get the cloud. We have satellite internet and a limited quota. Yep, add me also to the list of people unhappy with Adobe.

5 repliesGuess we kind of knew this was coming, I just think they plunge into forward-thinking a bit too soon, IMO: http://www.popphoto.com/adobe-camera-raw-v911-will-be-last-support-photoshop-cs6

Not happy with either MS or Adobe!

I will just stick with my CS5.
