August Theme: Rain

Most of you Colorado guys and gals had plenty of rain this spring but the question is whether or not you took the opportunity to incorporate it into your photography. Sprinkles on a puddle or pond, a downpour forming waterfalls or the blur of a steady rain all can give a unique spin on the image. This month let's see how you have used the rain in your compositions.

As my starter this month my post shows the rain and hail while hiking in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Sheets of rain, plus lightning falling just a few minutes before sunset around this lone tree southwest of Denver.

Early Morning Rain -- By July 2012 Colorado had been devastated by wild fires. One of the driest springs on record had left us with 100’s of thousands of acres charred and still in extreme fire danger. On July 6th we received the first of long awaited Monsoons that we often get in early July. The rain moved in late afternoon and it rained hard most of the night. We awoke the next morning to a significant drop in temperatures. Fog lingered in the valleys and a rain storm was dropping rain on the distant Gore Range. This is the scene we saw when we woke up that morning.
