Very difficult choice for the Macro & Close-up gallery WP this week (last week's submissions). Most weeks, I usually don't have much trouble getting it down to two or maybe three images to pick from, but there were at least six images last week in the M&CU gallery that merited very strong WP consideration. It was a very difficult choice, and I apologize in advance to the five or more of you who posted excellent images last week that merited, but will not be receiving, a WP. Thanks for making it a great week in the macro & close-up gallery but no thanks for making things so tough on me! To get (more) serious for a second, I just want to say that making the WPs is often very tough. Before I became a moderator, there were times I felt one of my images was wrongly overlooked, and I venture to say most of you probably feel the same. But having to make these decisions has certainly changed my perspective on the decision making process. Thanks for understanding that it is neither easy nor an exact science. Finally, I just want to add that the M&CU gallery has been going strong of late with fine images posted by many.
I just want to say that making the WPs is often very tough.
Scott, you and all the moderators deserve a formal salute and high praise for the work you all do in each gallery and the forums too. The quality has always remained high at NPN, therefore the WP selections cannot be easy......

Hey Mike, I see you deleted your comment! Don't worry, the pick was made and sent to Jim before I posted my original comment (which is why I said it "was a very difficult choice") so your reply did not influence the decision though it was pretty funny given the decision!
p.s., doesn't look like this week will be any easier.
