The Chosen One

A week of vacation around Ridgway, CO has just ended.  Seems there is always one image from a trip that sticks in the mind and begs to be processed first. This solitary tree image is the one.  My path had crossed that of Deb Yarra, so we decided to shoot CR5 in the morning.  After the sun rose, this waning aspen caught glancing light and stood apart from the rest of the mostly barren trees.  Color version is provided for your comparison and preferences.

Nikon D810, Tamron 150-600mm @ 400mm, f/7.1, ISO 64

Color version.

Suggestions and nits are always welcome.

Both are great, but the B&W version is absolutely stunning! Great job!

Doug, I favor the color version. Only nit I have is the white trunk of the tree seems a little blown out where the sun light is hitting it. May just be the jpg conversion.

Thanks John and Bob for the feedback.  I'll check the trunk when I am off this laptop and on the desktop.
