You have to sign up for Adorama's VIP program (I have and sometimes the deals are crazy good), but when the dust settles, big printer for small bucks. I have the Pro-100 which is dye-based ink, and I have a pigment-based 9500 MKII, and I'm happy with both so don't let dye inks sound like a detriment, the B&W images are awesome on a 100 because it has Black, Gray and Light gray tanks. On Baryta papers the 100 looks amazing (I sound like asalesman, lol). The two areas where the pigment-based 9500 does better IMO are landscapes on rag papers like Somerset Velvet, and for portrait work, the skin tones just print nicer on the 9500. But any kind of coated paper and you'll have larger prints that look way better than the price with that Pro-100. You get a free pack of semigloss paper with the printer which does show great detail in landscape work. If you go for this, make sure you download the regular drivers AND the XPS drivers. You need the regular ones installed so you can then put the XPS drivers in over that. Then always select the XPS driver when you print. This gives you a 16-bit print path on Windows (actually a 15-bit with a parity bit attached, carrying your 14-bit image file, but who's counting??). Mac users already get 16 bit printing. You'll notice a different in the skies when printing from a 16 bit PSD or TIFF through the XPS driver, very smooth output from this Pro-100. It worked better than the 9500 when I printed the eclipse with the black sky and stars on Pro platinum gloss paper.
ANYWAY, deal of the day, there it is. The 100 prints CD/DVDs too, kind of a nice feature if you sell DVD slideshows, etc.
Paul, what is this thing like for handling ink? I mean, does it have an automatic clean mode that wastes large amounts of ink? I don't know anything about the PRO-100; I have an HP DJ130 (24") now.

Sorry Genny, no matter how many times I check the button to receive email when there's a response, I never get them.
The ink charging and clean mode on this model is WAY WAY better than what Canon is usually known for. My 9500 MKII will sit there and churn and grind for well over 10 minutes sometimes, after replacing a cartridge, and often will empty out another cartridge that was low. Drives me NUTS. The Pro-100 is stellar in that area, its ready to go in SECONDS. In fact, it surprises me how quickly it's ready to print. First time I changed a cartridge (in mid-print actually), it continued printing almost immediately and you could not tell in the image where the pause was.
