Elation
Although posted on the Facebook site, I wanted those not a Facebook fan to weigh in if you so desire.

"Elation" - Of the many nice scenes I was able to witness this fall, this one is one of my favs. Probably because the planning and execution actually worked. The particular morning in RMNP was spectacular in every way.
At this point I'm satisfied on how it turned out. However, I could use some critique from others if they notice some elements that could be improved. And, yes, I chose the square format on purpose because it just worked better for this particular scene.
Technically, this was a several image blend to capture the entire scene and for exposure. Unfortunately, I also had to edit for some nasty sun flares. I will say, though, many less sun flares with the Sigma 35mm prime then other lens I have used in the past. Have to say so far I'm quite impressed with the Sigma. I have gone almost exclusively to prime lens a few months back and it has been an adjustment. Enjoy!

Ken, No nits here.  Very nicely done.  Here's a suggestion for sun flare.  I haven't tried it, but I respect Michael's experience & opinion greatly.

No "nits" from me, either, Ken.  And thanks, Monika, for the Michael Fry suggestion.

Yep, the technque of putting one's finger over the sun does work. I did use that technique on a few images, but not the few that really counted. I was movely quick to capture the sun and capture mutliple images to stitch together. Dang. Another useful tip in shooting in the sun is too use "live view."  That should save one's eyes from any possible damage.
