Although this article addresses 100 & 100f, which I do not use, it does not update the status of 50........................
Velvia 50 where it all started for the line has not been sold in sheet form here in the states for a few years now. However, still under production it continues to sell on eBay as well as like I did for my last order came directly from Japan. So, although not easy it worked very well and I had no issues at all with the purchase and was all dated for next year too......
If I end up keeping my 4x5, it will be for B&W work once I have time in retirement. For now, I am shooting all digital. I think the B&W films from the smaller players will continue to be available. They don't have the large corporate restraints of a company like FUJI.

A very valid point, Harley. Although I think the lines have been drawn for a few years now with regard to color options. Kodak seems to continue with the negative stuff and Fuji with the positive stuff. So, as long as folks keep buying they'll keep making it. I never liked ANY of the 100 stuff anyway from Fuji other then oddly enough their B&W Acros.
I'll just keep using the V-50 as long as they keep making it. We've yet to see Ferrania release their 100 transparency, although it will come out as 35 & 120 at first and no sheet films. Time will tell there too.
