Hello everyone, I am looking to invest in a good macro lens that will work with a Nikon D5200. Would be used mainly for insects. Any suggestions?

Jessica, the general recommendation for macro is the longer the focal length, the better. I would consider 100mm the minimum and something in the 150 to 200mm range optimum.

The Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro is a highly regarded macro lens

The above two options or the Nikon 105mm are all great choices. It will come down to budget, personal preference and over-all desired focal length. I used to have a 105mm from Nikon and it was a beautiful lens but ultimately I didn't use it enough and ended up selling it. I would look at used models to save some extra cash - they will be just as good as a new one.
