I just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself to all of you. I have followed and have been inspired by NPN photographers for years but never joined the group. My wife and I live in the far southwest suburbs of Chicago about 40 minutes away from Starved Rock.
This past July I turned 60 and want to have photography as a hobby. Years ago I had a decent camera but did not have the discipline to learn the craft and basically used automatic. Now things are different and I really want to explore and learn but without the classroom atmosphere. I learn by doing.
My current equipment is a Canon T5i, Canon 24-105L, 18-55EFS and an old 70-300EF zoom. So far I have not posted any photos but plan to enter at least one some time soon.
I look forward to learning and being part of the NPN group.
Thank you for having me.

Brian Murphy
Morris, Illinois.

Welcome, Brian. Don't forget to access the information available in NPN-especially under "instruction".  There are some very helpful CDs, etc available at reasonable prices.

Welcome aboard! It is a great place to hang out. I have met a lot of excellent people who are now good friends through NPN and gotten some great feedback on my images. I look forward to seeing your images and your input!

Brian, just a quick word on what everyone has said ... you'll note that everyone has chimed in saying: "look forward to your posts and comments".  Over the years, I have found it as instructive thinking about images and comenting on them as it has been posting images and getting feedback.  But you're in the right place: NPN is a great place to learn with a generous and supportive community.  Have fun!
