Hi - can anyone please recommend an external Blu-Ray DVD player and burner that will work with my PC, and hopefully not require a lot of extra software to have to buy?
I've had good luck with Asus and LG DVD read/write drives. Mine are internal (workstation and laptop), but both companies make good products.
All you need is the drive and the manufacturer's driver. You shouldn't need any additional software. Be sure you have a USB port available.
You didn't mention which OS you're using. So, be sure you have the correct driver.

Mine is external and made by Bufalo or Buffalo. I've had it at least 5 years and no problems. I think it came with the software. I would check B & H as they are quite reliable and have good prices.
