I live in Western Washington. My son is a firefighter. I would like to take a series of photographs of vintage fire trucks that I will frame and give him as Christmas presents. I'm trying to discover how to find vintage fire trucks in the state of Washington. I've done some Google research and found a vintage fire equipment society to whom I sent an inquiry. I have not heard back yet.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I would go about finding vintage fire trucks or know of any in either Washington or Oregon. I don't mind driving a few hours.
Thanks.

Hi Steve. I don't know of a general source, but I do know of one in Littlerock. There used to be a guy who collected all kinds of defunct machinery. He's gone now and whoever inherited it seems to be slowly disposing of it, but the last time I looked the fire engine was still there. Take exit 95 from I-5, go west on Maytown road a couple of miles to an intersection at the Littlerock elementary school. Go straight through the intersection (be careful, the traffic from the other directions does not stop!). Shortly past the intersection you'll see a coffee stand and the junkyard on the left.
Good luck,

I have seen 2 vintage fire trucks in Oregon. One is just outside the town of Sisters right along Highway 20. The other one I have seen is in someone's garage in the little town of Mayfield in northcentral Oregon earlier this year. I have no idea who owns the trucks or how to contact them. The Sisters one is easily visible from the highway, the one in Mayfield, a very small town with a lot of abandoned buildings and homes, was on a back street.
