Our sincere thanks to Scott Lanz for his effort over the last four years moderating the Macro/Close-up gallery. Scott has decided to take a well-deserved break from the moderating chore. On behalf of the entire NPN membership, thank-you Scott for your time and inspiration!
Thanks as well to Mark Seaver who will now be moderating the M/CU gallery along with the Weekly Challenge gallery. Thank-you Mark for taking it on!
Our sincere thanks to all of the NPN moderators for helping to make NPN the great resource it is!
Jim, these updates can be sorrowful as well as being contenting at the same time. A well deserved break for Scott from his moderator duties, and a salute to Mark for taking on the additional duties at the M/CU gallery going forward.......
Thank you Scott for your reviews and comments as an NPN moderator in the past years , and to Mark for his strong support over the long haul as well......

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as moderator these past four years, Jim. It was both challenging (particularly making the WPs) and rewarding. It really made me think even more critically and conscientiously, which was good for me. I also want to thank everyone who participated in the macro & cu gallery during this time. I never received any complaints, criticisms, or second-guessing.This made my job much easier, and is a credit to the graciousness of everyone at NPN. I can now just sit back, relax, and participate as a regular NPN member, which I will remain having just renewed my membership.

Scott, it's definitely not an easy task but you handled it well - we look forward to your continuing participation!

Thanks to Scott for four years of exceptional work that has helped make the Macro/Close-up a lively part of NPN.
And thanks to Mark for doing the same for the WC Gallery. I know he will carry on Scott's good work in M/CU while doing double-duty on the WC. (That's a lot of energy!)
Thanks to you both for your insightful and constructive comments!

Scott,
You have been the Macro & CU Moderator for the duration of my three and a half years as a member at NPN and you are the primary reason that I reluctantly took the plunge into macro photography. If you recall, my first bunch of post into your gallery were shot with every kind of lens but a Macro. Thanks to you, I now own a 100 mm macro and a set of extension tubes. What a wonderful plunge it has been, thank you so much for your insightful critiques, heartfelt support, expert guidance and especially for your inspirational images that have given me a goal to shoot for. I also want to note that because of your professionalism, your ethics and your role as advocate for the ideas and direction that you so firmly believed in, has helped to make NPN what it is today. You will be missed and thanks for your great work as moderator. I'm glad you will still be posting so we can all take a crack at topping your images each week and hope you will be returning to moderator duties in the near future.
Thanks for the outstanding job you have done . . .
