How do you backup you digital files?
I have recently got a digital camera and scanning all my slides using a good film scanner @4000 DPI. I need a serious backupplan. I'm thinking about an external hard-drive from seagate.

I back up using a Seagate external drive and also on DVD. I know DVD is not as long term as an external drive, but if the drive crashes or some magnetic issue ruins data I wanted the DVD back up as a safety net. I'll copy the DVDs every few years or copy to whatever the DVD replacement will be.

I use a Buffalo Terrastation Network Attached Storage drive congiured as RAID 1. I use a program called SyncBack SE to handle my nightly scheduled backups. Syncback emails me if there is a failure in the backup.

I use mirrored external USB drives. for a good backup strategy, I suggest reading Peter Krough's The Dam Book.
