I've been a bit disappointed in our community lately for its lack of welcome to new members. It seems to me that when we see an unfamiliar name under an image, it behooves us to provide a warm welcome and to provide comments and encouragement. It is the comments and interaction that keep the community active and interesting. I know we bet busy and it's easy to get in the habit of posting and making one or two comments on especially striking images, but that's not what a critique site is about. No one would bother to post here if they didn't get feedback, that's what you blog is for.
So lets make it a point to roll out the welcome mat, folks.
