Hi Neil. Welcome to NPN. I'm guessing that you intended to post this image for critique. For that, it should be posted in the Avian Gallery. The Forums are for questions and discussion while the Galleries are for critique. You can repost this image there. Please note that you will get better feedback if you post as much information as possible about the equipment used, the camera settings you used and the ambient lighting conditions (sunny, cloudy, mottled sun in forest, etc.), and time of day the image was taken.
It looks like you have nice feather detail and good exposure in this one and you managed to tame that broken forest canopy background. Did you use some fill flash?
This is a very nice first post and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
