OK everyone, I would like your help. I am looking for a relatively small weatherproof camera.
I already have cameras on either end of the spectrum, and am looking for something in the lower-middle.
I have a totally waterproof point n shoot, the Fuji XP-70. I also have the Fuji XT-1. (My regular camera is a 5d mk2, and in wet weather, the XT-1.) I also have the Canon 1Ds Mkii, but that absolutely does not fit the "small"requirement.
So what I am looking for is  something with better image quality than the little point n shoot, but still small enough that I can carry it when in the field doing non-photography things, like fishing or rafting. We got the XP-70 because a couple years ago we did a 40 mile raft trip, and my camera spent nearly the entire trip in a Pelican case ( that was before I got the XT1).
I am not sure what is out there. NIKON has the 1 AW1 for $500+, and maybe that is a possibility. I do not really want to take the XT-1 on these types of trips, because it is important for safety sake that I not have to worry at all about the camera. I need to be able to concentrate 100% on the task at hand, whether it is watching for bears or guiding the raft, and the XT-1 is just a little too much $$ invested for me to do that, and with the lens I have, maybe a little bulky too. But I would like something that takes better pictures than the point n shoot.
one of the real advantages of the point n shoot is that it is a one-handed camera. You could hold it in one hand while you are still holding your oar, or your walking stick or  your gun or bear spray, in the other hand.
I am looking at $300 to $600? I really do not know what is out there. Ideas?

Don't turn your nose up at the Nikon AW series camera.  I bought a used AW-100 for a trip to Hawaii and it took surprisingly good under water pictures.  My only complaint was the relatively short battery life.

Thanks, Skip. I'll look at them.  I'm keeping an open mind and looking at everything.  It doesn't need to be completely waterproof.  Splashproof would be good.  I am surprised that with the wide spread of mirrorless cameras, there are more around like this.  Man there's a lot of different camera models out there!!
