Tunnel Falls on Eagle Creek
I took this a couple weeks ago...Tunnel Falls is about 6.5 miles up Eagle creek, it was almost raining the day I took this, the wind was blowing the other direction so this was the best shot I could get from this side....

Comments and Critiques Please!!

Thanks
Darren

Tunnel falls is one of the more spectacular falls in Oregon. Well worth the hike. I'd like to see more detail in the ULC in your image, but otherwise nice. Here are the same falls from down below. Helps put it all in perspective. I can hardly even find the trail in my shot, but it passes behind the falls about midway (100 feet) up. Oh yeah, welcome to the forum!

Nice exposure, Darren... Someday I will get this far up!

Darren,
it is quite of a hike to this falls. Since this falls isn't photographed often because of the distance, I would like to see a little more of it so I can give it an identity. The exposure of the water and the greens are perfect. I do agree with Marc about the upper left hand corner.

Darren,
Welcome to the forum! Wish I could have met up with you guys this morning...but I wasn't quite up to it. My body said absolutely no.
I cant offer any more critique other than what was said above, except I'm seeing a slight blue cast in your image. I dont know if I really would make the trek up there just for these falls though...seems like any other waterfall to me...but I may just be talking myself out of the hike

I don't have the post processing knowledge you guys but its something I really want to learn...

Darren, I'm having trouble figuring out what I'm looking at. In the LL is that actually a tunnel behind the falls. A real live dug-through-the-rock tunnel? I like being confused by a comp but I like to be able to figure it out. This one sort of looks like, "okay, there is a tunnel over here and a waterfall over here". I'm not feeling any magic between the two.
Marc's photo is nice but I don't see a tunnel connection, it could be any falls in the NW.

yes the tunnel is a man made ( I would assume) tunnel that goest through the rock behind the falls.......

I have another angle of it where you can see the tunnel a bit better but its just a boring front view

here you can kind of see the tunnel going behind the falls....

That really lives up to its namesake! :toast: I really like the sweeping curve drawing the viewer in..

Hey Darren,

It was good meeting you there yesterday. Really, a perfect waterfall photography day! I actually like your second image better. It shows me what I think you're trying to accomplish: the tunnel and the falls. On that note, exaggerating the angle of the pathway up to and behind the waterfall would really push this over the top. Any wildflowers would be the icing on the cake, too. I think we should explore this photo op again

And a welcome to the forum. :wavey:

Thanks Ned and Kevin....I am always willing to head back up there on any sunday!
The major problem I had the day I was up there was wind and mist was very heavy...even from where I took the straight on shot there was still mist hitting me and my lens....

I am hoping the weather will become sunny and help to lessen some of the water comming off this....But if you wanna go back up just let me know.....I am ready!!!
