Great Egret
Finally getting to some of my Florida pics (gee, only been back for 10 weeks...). This Great Egret was photographed at the St Augustine Alligator Farm. Early March found them nest building and breeding (psssst...wanna see some egret porn?)  It was too early for a lot of the other species to show up, so we photographed egrets, wood storks, and ibis all day. They flew overhead constantly, so it really wasn't that difficult to get flying shots with having to use long lenses. I know a couple guys who showed up with only one body and 500mm or 600mm lenses who were not happy campers about that. The birds were too close.

20D, 100-400mm IS at 190mm, 1/1000 @ f9

Looks like it's doing some crazy dance in the sky. Cool shot Jerry!

Thanks guys! It's actually coming in for a landing. The nest is not too far out of the frame.

Jerry,
The sharp, white bird against the dark blue background really makes this exceptional. :toast:
