The Alligator and the Grebe (4 unprocessed images - not sad)
I've put this in NPN Discussion because it has both an alligator and a bird in it.  If you would like to move it, please feel free.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw this large alligator, and I took a couple of shots of part of it just to post on Facebook.  It was swimming fast.

Then a Grebe, also swimming fast, came up beside the alligator.  Then I had to watch to see if anything was going to happen.

Apparently the Grebe could tell when the alligator was going to go into the reeds, so he turned and watched him.

The alligator went into the reeds, and the Grebe seemed very lonely (okay, okay).

I'm trying not to anthropomorphize here, but the Grebe's actions here in swimming up right beside the alligator's head and keeping up with the alligator seemed very intentional.  It was pretty strange.

Maybe the grebe was making sure the gator really went "away" so that it could feed in relative safety. Nice action.

They tell an interesting story. I think photo no. 2 on its own will have the viewer wondering, What happened next? Did the alligator have grebe for lunch, or ...?
