At last I have my 1DX Mk II back with a new sensor, at a great cost, this one was amost clean I got them to finish it off!
The Canon service centre todl me that under no circumstances should be cleaned by owners, as the sensor is extremely sensitive!
They are provided with tools and cleaning solution by Canon, but would not tell me what they are.
I asked why there is not a stronger waning in the manual and they could not provide an answer.
This limitation also applies to the sensor on the 5D Mk IV!
Even though here in SA the service centre is not tat good I will in future let them clean it, if they break it it will be there fault and save me a fortune.
