Weekly Pick Recognition in Staff Showcase

Every week we get amazing feedback from this site on our photography work. Every week most of us have an opportunity to receive recognition for our work, except for the moderators who are doing so much of the work here.

I would like to recommend a Weekly Pick Recognition for the Staff Showcase Gallery. Subsequently I would recommend they also be considered for an Annual Award Recognition (EPA).

I am not sure how to go about making this happen, how/who the decision would be made by. I just know our moderators are posting a lot of amazing photos every week that are not eligible, or not selected, for the weekly picks unless they are in another gallery, and I'm not sure even then if they are considered.

It could be as simple as creating a WP button in the Staff Showcase Gallery for people to register their approval/selection for the week. It would have to be restricted to one selection per member per week.

Perhaps it should be Jim and Donna's pick, rather than the general membership, so it doesn't turn into a popularity contest.

Just some ideas....thanks for consideration.

This is an excellent suggestion; our moderators deserve recognition for their fine work.

Ed and Allen, the NPN moderators are without a doubt an inspiration!  Not only for their photography, but also for their passion to help others.  Though I won't speak for them as a group, I suspect it is the latter that truly motivates them.

Collectively, we simply want to encourage and help our members.  In my opinion, your continued growth as nature photographers and your participation here is the best "thanks" you can send.

Thank you for expressing your gratitude to the NPN moderators!
