ID Help - Empidonax Flycatcher
Emps are hard. This bird was photographed Sunday at Centennial Marsh, Camas Prairie, Idaho. He was hunting bugs pretty low down - 3-6 feet from the ground. I'm inclined to a Least Flycatcher, but others have suggested a Western Wood-Pewee. No vocalizations. No obvious behaviors (tail-twitching, or example).

Thanks in advance.

Hi JIm,

The bill size seems more like a pewee. These flycatchers are tough.

I'm voting for Western Wood-Pewee. The "Fat" look to this bird seems off for an empid.
