The Coast Guard wanted metal prints of a couple of photos I had  of their rescues, so I took the chance to include in the order several prints for my own use.

Adorama Photo is familiar to most of us.They now have a  division for prints and metal prints - Adorama Pix. They had some good introductory discount coupons, so I gave them a try.

Let me tell you, these metal 'prints" are spectacular. Bright, vibrant colours, excellent detail, quick service, and exceptionally secure packing. Metal prints cost more up front, but not having to mat, frame, and glass paper prints saves a lot more. Metal prints give an excellent presentation, imo, wih clean lines and no distracting frames

Adorma Pix is Highly recommended!

I'll add an important note to this and one caveat:

- If you're ordering larger metal prints, see if there are any mounting options (such as "drilled in" mounting posts).  There may not be.  Some small metal prints have a mounting board attached to the back, but the larger ones may not have a prefabricated mounting option.  In that case, and if you don't get the posts (or that's not an option), you may have to use something like mirror-hanging brackets from a hardware store in order to mount the print on a wall.

- In regard to AdoramaPix, my experience with them on the metallic paper side was mixed.  I ordered large quantities of big metallic paper prints from them because I really liked the vibrance of the colors in their prints.  However, numerous times I had to request re-prints because the prints I received were either dinged, scratched or, in many cases, had fingerprints all over them.  I couldn't understand why a print house was handling a fragile finish (from which fingerprints don't come off!) with their bare hands.  On the plus side, they did replace the damaged prints without a fuss, but it became a huge hassle doing it multiple times.  Ultimately, I went with another printing house due to all the errors.  Perhaps they have addressed these issues since then, but it's only fair to warn folks if you choose to go with metallic paper from them.
