HELP PLEASE.
My wife & I are considering a trip to Yellowstone National Park in late September of this year. Primary reason is to see and photograph wildlife, followed by landscape.
I have next to no knowledge about the park and am confused (happens easily & often) with all the information on the internet. Perhaps someone can give me some suggestions of where to visit and where to stay. We will be flying in and renting a vehicle.
Rich, I would start by asking where you're flying into and where your home base is, as well as the duration of your stay. This could affect some of the suggestions made.
You don't mention the Grand Tetons, but I would highly recommend allocating at least a couple days down there if possible. It's the one time of year I'll admit that the Tetons may be better than Yellowstone.
Feel free to send me a message or email if you would like further advice. I haven't had much time to check the boards on this site lately, so a PM would be a better way to reach me.

Max I will send you a message. We are not sure of where we are flying into or where are home base. We would like to spend a week there. Any suggestions, comments or other info will be appreciated. TANK YOU.
Richard, that is prime season for the area and making a reservation this late might prove difficult. I'd suggest making your decision very very soon.
We are going late September also, and made the reservations this time LAST year.
The Tetons are spectacular in the fall, and, imo, more beautiful than Yellowstone.

Sandy thank you for this info, which I am slowly coming to realize.
Hi Richard - I sent you a message about available lodging at Tetons the end of Sept, but the email came back.

Thank you to everyone but unfortunately due to one of our dogs becoming critically ill our plans have been changed. Vacation money plus a lot more is now going to the vet. There will always be time for a vacation, but not always time to be with our dog (s) who now have the priority. Thank you again.
