Definition of all galleries

I'm looking for a single place at NPN that clearly defines each of the galleries. The sort of place someone would look to try to determine where to post a particular image. I thought there used to be such a page, but I cannot find it even from the Site Map.

Without an easy to access and inclusive list of descriptions of all the galleries how is a person supposed to decide where to post?

Richard, as I recall I think if you go into each gallery and across the top header is a link to the given gallery information and moderators for each gallery. Not sure I've ever seen all the galleries on just one list. I'm sure they could be cut and pasted to a list easy enough and linked then in one location more obvious....laugh

Landscape Gallery Example: NPN's Earth, Sea & Sky™ landscape image critique gallery is dedicated to photos of natural landscapes, seascapes, and celestial images showing no evidence of hand-of-man.

It would be handy to have them all in one place with a link on the NPN home page.

Just click on the posting guidelines, scroll down and there is a basic description of each gallery:

HERE IS A LINK for easy reference

Attached is a screen shot of the specific section

Keith, that would be the right place. I see that listing was actually updated with Landscape Gallery being listed as "Landscape" and not the old "ESS" that I'd cut & pasted in my previous comment....laugh

I see where Richard is coming from. The link to the list that Keith posted takes one to the page, but a viewer has to scroll down to read it.

As a suggestion, perhaps Jim could generate a new page that contains the critique galleries list and then add a menu item at the top of the "Galleries" menu. Once done we could post a reminder in General Discussion. I believe this will make the list easier to find, and would be very helpful to those who have a doubt as to which gallery they should post their image.

Any thoughts on this?

It might be nice to have this on a single page, but it isn't that hard to find by scrolling down.  It seemed like an obvious place to look to me (Posting Guidelines).  There  are so many other items that I think are a higher priority that we noted earlier this year that have not been implemented.  I know there is a lengthy list of suggested improvements that would take precedence over this for me.

Thanks, Keith, for the link. I had a vague recollection that this existed somewhere already but not where it was located. This is what I wanted to see and not be forced to build it up via cut and paste from each individual gallery. I assume that this collected list matches the individual descriptions.

I think I see what might have confused me - other than for posting an image I rarely notice the links in the black bar (preferences, etc.). It seemed more logical to me that I would find the collected definitions of the galleries under the Galleries pull down menu on the NPN page banner.
