It's impossible to find accommodations in hotels, motels, or RV campgrounds this close to the eclipse on 8/21.
HOWEVER, I know of a private residence in an upscale community near Madras that has a few RV spots left. The nice old guy put in RV pads for all his friends when they come to visit, and rents them out privately.
We are staying there, away from the thousands of people flooding into central Oregon. It will be a zoo. He is not scalping - asking only $50/night, cash. Totality here is about 2 minutes, about as good as it gets.
Electric and water, no sewer. In Crooked River Ranch.
Very nice of you to share this, Sandy. I wish I can take advantage of it.

Ugh, we used to live in Salem and we'd have taken that offer in a heartbeat. Not entirely terrible though, for two minutes the very slight partial we'll see in Phoenix will lower the UV level from 17 to 16.9.
