It seems every photo contest has more and more entry rules.
These are the rules for one just opened:
To insure anonymous judging, images may not contain any watermarks, text, logos, borders, or other identifying marks. In addition, no text can be entered in the title, location, or description fields of an entry that would identify the photographer. And finally, all metadata will be removed during the upload process.
How do I "remove the metadata" ??
Thanks for any insight -

Never seen this before. I don't know how to do that. I wonder if that means they will remove all metadata when it is uploaded. Hopefully someone will be able to give you some help.

I'm guessing they mean that the metadata will automatically be stripped during the upload process, not that they expect you to do it (though obviously they want you to make sure your title, location and description fields are blank).

If you use Lightroom, there is an option in the export dialog to remove metadata. I'm sure there are other ways as well but since I use LR it's very simple that way.

Sandy,
If you have photoshop (not sure about ps elements), go to File>Save for Web & Devices and that will produce an image stripped of metadata...

If you are using Save for Web in Photoshop, you need to place a 'check' mark in the box labeled Optimized. This strips the metadata from the file.
Note: Since Save for Web no longer appears in the PS File menu, you need to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S to open it.
--P
Save for the Web is still in the menu system.
File / Export / Save for Web (Legacy)
--P
