Linnet in Rape Crop
Taken this morning at work. This male Linnet looked a picture sunning itself in blowy Rape Field.

More or less straight from the camera with a bit of cropping & sharpening, maybe a bit to much sharpening?. Cloning things out or filling in the sky I decided not to do

D2X - 400mm AFS F2.8
ISO 200, F8, 1/500sec

Comments & Critique welcome :toast:

Hi Vince,

I'm not really sure on this one, its certainly a great setting and a nice fluffed up pose from the bird, I think it might be the crop, perhaps try a landscape crop? perhaps someone will be able to put their finger on it

Hi Vince, I find it a very attractive photo, both colourwise and the birds pose. I think you have to loose a few flowers to create a more traditional vertical crop.

Amazing colours. Regarding a crop, by scrolling the screen I quite like a square crop that results from removing approx 2/3 or 3/4 off the top.

The peachy-pink of the bird and the yellow flowers look great against that grey BG.

Thumbs up from me.

If only... All I've seen at work for the past week is the underside of a concrete bridge! I think you've got the best job in the world Vince!!!

Nice image of a Linnet too - another species I'm yet to capture.

Hi Vince
I love the colours and the setting but the flowers on the right are a bit of a problem. Other wise a nice image.
Cheers Simon

I thought this would make a bit of a change than the normal shots I take of a bird on a stick lol, I must ask this Linnet next time to move to a place thats not its habitat  Just joking :wavey:

Thanks for the comments & critique, always appreciated :toast:
