After too long a time, Wacom has issued an updated driver for both Windows 7, 8, and 10 and Mac OSX for the Intuos 4 tablet.

Driver download page: http://www.wacom.com/en-us/support/product-support/drivers .

If you have an Intuos 4, and need to install the driver for Win 10, shoot me an e-mail and I will provide the steps you need to follow.

Funny, my wife just got me a new tablet for Christmas because the old one went haywire after my last update.

Max,

After I upgraded to the latest Win 10 build (Fall Creators Update, version 1709) I had an intermittent issue where the pen would be unresponsive when I clicked my lock screen to open the logon page.

I decided to go to Wacom's site and look for a compatible driver. I had done this once before, a year ago, and Wacom did not have  a new driver. When I checked this morning, they had released a new driver  for Win 10 on 12/17!

I downloaded and installed according to instructions on Wacom's Support site, and now all appears to be well.

When I run into hardware issues like this one, I immediately suspect the driver. Ninety-nine percent of the time, a new driver fixes the problem.

Hi All,

Here are the steps you need to take to uninstall the old driver and install the updated driver...

1.        Unplug the USB connector from the tablet.

2.        Open Control Panel>Programs and Features

3.        Uninstall the Wacom software

4.        After the routine finishes, you will be advised to restart your computer (Be sure to Restart. Do Not shut down)

5.        After the restart and you are logged on, download and install the new driver using the link in my original post.

6.        Once the driver has installed, you will be required to restart your computer (Be sure to Restart. Do Not shut down)

7.        After the restart, plug the USB connector into the tablet.

·       You will receive a ‘notification’ that Windows is setting up the device. Allow it to finish. This only takes a minute, or so.

You should be good to go.
