The Grass is Always Greener...
Nikon D2x
28-70 @ 70mm
1/60 @ f/11

I used the Cloudy White Balance setting for this whole trip and really like the results.

Unique view with the fence snaking through the landscape separating the two different groundcovers, cultivated and wild. Quite an engaging image.

I agree with Harald.. the contrast against cultivated and not is perfectly presented. Looks like the white balance choice was a good one for your conditions.. :toast:

Windy? I'm surprised at the lack of detail in the grasses. Seems like you had the SS to avoid that though. Maybe a compression thing. Fortunately, the softness works about as well as it could in this dreamy image. I like the composition very much.

It certainly was breezy, Marc, I'm struggling with that. I'm looking back and forth from this version to a print to the Raw file and I'd have to say it's the compression. The print shows a bit of that in the mid-left but I'm not 10% sure of my paper profile right now. I'm getting a custom one made from InkJetArt in the next few days.

My fav spot of the trip, I think. This is great Mark. I bet it will sell well. The fence makes the whole scene work.

Oh, now that is a cool shot. Perfect image that feels very "real", not formulaic if you know what I mean. Umm, I think your horizon line is crooked. (kidding)

Mark,
Nice shot with the fence dividing the two different landscapes. The placement of the fence in the frame is perfect.

This will be the default background for the next version of Windows! Well seen. This is not just interesting visually, but also symbolically.
