5 minute Black Kite
As i was leaving to photograph the fox cubs a week or so ago the farmer started ploughing the field next to my appartment,i was running late so gave myself 5 mins to grab some shots and this was the best of the mini session,The Kites were dropping behind the tractor collecting worms and what ever was thrown up,70 or more circled above the tractor dropping down and taking off as it returned,i stood at the end of the field and they shot over my head as the tractor came close

Great shot, would'nt it be nice if we could all go out and get shots as good as this everytime we had a spare 5 mins. :toast:

Love the kite Dave - but not the sky doesn't look right to me too blue and wrong blue - mind you I only know UK skies - may be swiss ones are different

Hi David
That's not bad for five minutes; did you get any good behavioural shots of them dropping down behind the tractor?

Nice one :toast: :toast:

Hi Dave

Nicely caught flight shot. :toast:

I find it interesting that birds that are considered rare and elusive in one country are common as muck and easy to find in another. I wonder if Swiss photographers come to England to photograph gulls following our tractors!

cheers

Black Kites migrate from Africa to Switzerland in large numbers arriving about march and leaving august, Typical scavengers they will eat basically anything but as mentioned a moving tractor will have them arriving in minutes,I adjusted levels and added abit of saturation and 5 highlight/shadow so the sky is just a little warmer than as taken,
Simon if you around Lausanne let me know and we can meet
