Lots of great campgrounds around. White River at Rainier is my favorite. You could also camp in the backcountry or find any old mountain road and car-camp.....Oh, you must mean a hotel. I can't help you there. Sorry.

I would stay in the back of my truck, but my wife is coming along to photograph and her physical condition right now requires a motel.

Gotcha. I wish I could help out with the motel/hotel thing in Packwood. I've driven through a hundred times and recall several small establishments but can't put a name on one. Never stayed there myself. If your plan is to visit Rainier Park, Longmire Inn is very nice with views of the peak. It fills quickly though. Crystal Mountain resort probably has some nice summer deals too, I'd check them out.

Thanks Marc. Got reservations in Ashford for 7/29-8/1. Coming home after the morning shoot on the 2nd, then heading for somewhere on the Oregon coast by myself for three days, depending on where I can find a place to car camp. Should be fun!!

If anyone else is going to be there then, I'll be the one shooting Canon equipment. :wavey:
