Today's paper reports that Hugh Morton, who is responsible for the Linn Cove Viaduct because he wouldn't let the Park Service bulldoze Granfather Mountain, has died. I've always thought he demonstrated a balanced approach to conservation, although others did not always agree. His passing is a loss.
