Messing around today up in the gorge, I began my first 40 or so shots with my auto focus turned off...thinking it was left on.
Well, I lucked out shooting f/18 anyway and got this in focus. It's got a hot spot up top of the cascade, which I can fix...other than that, I kinda like it.

Here's one of the originals. I take 3 different exposures, and on stream images...I sometimes perform a selection on the stream and copy it into the frame exposed for the forest.
Hey man.. good thing you checked those settings! Cool "in your face" perspective! Isn't it nice to experience relaxed shooting in solitude - when you can take your time and compose??
Erik,
The second one is the original, which Darren requested we post.
Darren, I did get a sprinle...but got out in time. I was going to trek around eagle creek, but the trail was closed due to that boyscout who fell and hit his head on a log. It's a terrible thing that happened ...nature can sure be a dangerous place as we all know.
Yesterday, I put my foot through a rotten log, and went face down. On of the branches on that log got me right in the ribs/stomach. Good thing it was partially rotten as well, otherwise it coulda pierced me too.

As Ned said thats a niice "in your face shot" with good processing. Looks like you forgot a dust bunny on the second one.

I always try to be extra careful while I am out in nature.....the forces of nature are far stronger then any human being!
