Bald Eagle (c)
Inspired by Vincents recent fantastic shot.

Went to the Hawk Conservancy for a day out today and they have a couple of Bald Eagles. I've not had the opportunity to get close up shots of one before and so tried to make the most of it.
Beautiful birds, I can only hope to see them in the wild one day!

Nice picture Richard, plenty of detail but bit tight in the frame for my liking,a cracking picture though of a great looking bird.Would love to see this in A3 print

Superb. This has an almost sculptural quality - would make a great (if lethal....) car mascot. :toast:

BTW what was it making this pose for?

Thanks Barrie, I actually cropped a little from the frame to show more detail in the web sized image :)

Clive, many thanks, one of the keepers was walking past putting the other birds away (it was the end of the day) and everytime he came past it would cry out. This was the only time I captured it side on, the rest of the time he was looking at me or off to an angle.

Brilliant shot indeed. I like the background even if it is unreal.
