Hi Everyone,

Just got back from a few days badger hunting in Pembrokeshire. During the day I made myself busy photographing spring flowers, bugs and birds. If you ever pop to Skomer, hang around the toilet block for a while when you get back to dry land and you'll find swallows flitting around outside and INSIDE the toilets! Sometimes they perch on the walls but I managed to sneek up on this one (painfuly though brambles and stingers in shorts) perched on a rusty metal pole. All coments welcome!

Camera: Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II

Exposure: 1/1000 sec @ F6.3 (Manual)
ISO: 200
Lens: EF300mm F2.8 ISL & 2xTC (eq600mm)

Hang around the toilet block eh!!!! Hope the trip went well,I like the way the prch seperates the background colours although would have liked the bird abit lower in the frame and abit more light on the face or slight head turn

Agree with Dave here Elliott. The BG is superb. Bit more light and head turn would be great..... but as it's your first one, it's cool. I haven't any yet!!!

Pretty good for a first attempt Elliot. I find the contrasts make them very tricky in direct sunlight.
